Just seen a pair of magpies chasing a cat...
The two birds were working in tandem. Wherever the cat went, one planted itself on a branch overhead and gave out their usual racket, while the other swooped overhead to drive the moggy away, surprisingly low to the ground.

Ole pussy was on his toes like he'd wandered into Ducky Boy territory and no mistake.

They were swapping roles and all sorts, proper tag team. Quite impressive work. Is this a thing ?

My daughter took a pic today of an upside down rainbow.

Live up here, magpies are something i see a lot of ...as in the birds not the cartoon army.

Clever aren't they? And the nests are beautiful.

Has Golden Oldie blamed the JEWS yet and posted a link to an obscure Russian website ?

Cheers, Nursie, nice one. Interesting that they build their nests using spiders webs so the gaff can expand depending on the number of chicks they hatch.

Picks

My cat is a bit of freak, he is a hefty old lump. He weighs in at just over a stone.

It’s just plain violent.

Magpies are said to mourn the death of one of their own.

The kites go for the chicks in the nest. Crows get pretty miffed about it.

Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
It's fun where I live watching crows chasing red kites away from their territory. Like a Battle of Britain dogfight. Recently the kites have learned how to fight back by flying inverted with their talons facing the incoming crow. I'm not sure why crows are so sensitive to the kites, which are more often scavengers rather than direct predators.

They are cocky fuckers and sometimes too cocky.

I watched one stooping a buzzard in a tree once. Was being clever staying above the buzzard at all times. What it did not see though was another buzzard come bombing out of the sky... Brown bread.

I was watching 2 Magpies harrass a fox about a year ago from my living room window
I watched for a few mins then got bored and walked off.

About a minute later the noise from the Magpies goes up several hundred decibels, I look out the window and one of the little cunts has obviously got a bit too brave because its hanging out of the fox's mouth.
